We are delighted to be able to announce a new attraction this year courtesy of our friends at the County of Salop Steam Engine Society.
Volunteers at the Society will be bringing a selection of fantastic steam traction engines, along with classic army vehicles including tanks to the show on Saturday 26th May.
The working demonstration of these magnificent machines will take place on the area of the showground previously occupied by the tractor pulling, which is not being held at the show this year.
Anyone who was at the showground for the recent Have-A-Go Day in aid of the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund and The Rural Charity will know the kind of treats which will be in store.
The exact range of vehicles is of course subject to change, but we are hoping to see the ‘Endurance’ Showman’s Steam Engine, a selection of steamrollers, army trucks and the thrilling tanks.
There’s not long to go now until the big day - advance tickets are still available and people can pay on the gate on the day.
For more information and pictures of the kind of vehicles we hope to be at the show, have a look at the Have-A-Go Day report here - https://www.shrewsburysteamrally.co.uk/have-a-go-day-what-a-day/
