About the 2023 County Show

The annual Shropshire County Show is the Shropshire and West Midlands Agricultural Society’s main event - with a history dating back more than 125 years!
A fun-filled day out for all the family as thousands of people from across town and country come together on the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury.
Take a wander around our shopping court, sample the goodies in our Taste of the Shires area, relax with a cuppa as you listen to the Bandstand music in the Village Green or head to the food court for lunch.
Children can hunt out the special offerings for them along our 2023 theme of Science and Nature using our showground map and our Youth Zone offers a range of entertainment for older children.
The showground is easily accessible with plenty of parking available and offers some of the finest agricultural exhibits for miles around, with a great deal of interest always shown in the latest farm machinery and vintage gems of the past.

What's On?

This year’s Shropshire County Show is once again putting together an exciting programme, featuring main arena attractions, including death-defying motorcycle stunts, live music, trade stands, food and drink, an impressive entry of livestock classes and youth activities.

The big attraction in the main ring will be Britain’s Got Talent stars the Bolddog Lings motorcycle display team, a rip-roaring display which is guaranteed to thrill. The returning Bolddog Lings may be top of the bill but there are plenty of other amazing attractions in the main ring to ensure you won't be getting bored, including a vintage machinery parade and the ever-popular Young Farmers’ Club floats.

This year’s youth zone includes the Extreme Mountain Biking show, parkour, donkey rides, martial arts, archery, the Army with their games, military vehicles and a climbing wall, the Shropshire Woodcarvers showing off their wood carving skills and an opportunity to learn more about paddle sports - with canoe hire also available on the nearby River Severn.

There will be a children’s trail of adventure for younger visitors and look out for show mascot, Jessie the Jersey Cow, who will be out and about!

Other attractions include Alison’s Bee Class, story time with Usborne Books, the ‘Animal Man’ Simon Airey, facepainting and Magic Kev and Juggling Jim who will be wandering around the showground providing entertainment all day.

Gates open at 9am.
